Welcome to Year 5
Our topic this term is: Extreme Earth.
This term, year five are discovering the extreme events that happen here on earth, such as volcanic eruptions, huge meteor impacts, the water cycle and epic ice ages.
In science we are learning about: Earth and space.
This term, year five are going to find out about the third planet from the sun, as well as, lots of other fascinating areas in our solar system and beyond.
Pupils rotate through teachers and sports each term. This term Mr Webber's group are learning to play hockey.
We have PE on a Thursday afternoon. It is important that all children wear a Seven Fields PE kit consisting of a plain white or blue t-shirt and black or blue shorts and joggers. Children also need to have suitable footwear.
Your child should be reading as much as possible at home. If they can read for at least 10 minutes every evening and once over the weekend it will really help improve their reading. Certificates will be awarded when they reach milestones, for number of nights read.
Pupils who try hard enough, earn privilege time at the end of the week. Every effort is made to make this as great as possible, to remind children, their efforts are noticed and appreciated. Here are some photos of such children enjoying the free time, they have earnt:
