Even Year 6 children need to practise their reading outside of school!
All children should read for about 15 minutes each school night. Reading at home in Year 6 is more about understanding what has been read and, importantly, reading for pleasure than learning how to read. Many tend not to want to read aloud to an adult any more, which is fine, although all parents and carers are encouraged to take an interest in what their children are reading.
Your child has a Reading Record which needs to be filled in with the book title and page numbers read (they can do this) and signed (you need to do this bit!).
PE is on Thursdays. Please make sure that the correct PE kit is worn: plain white T shirt, blue or black shorts. Blue jogging bottoms, Seven Fields sweatshirt and trainers are needed for outdoor lessons.
Football shirts and coloured or patterned T shirts or shorts are not appropriate kit and should not be worn.
Congratulations to Luna and Ryan on their election to the School Council..
